Why Enhancing Insulin Action with Physical Activity is Critical to Preventing, Reversing and Controlling Type 2 Diabetes and Pre-Diabetes

Why is our system different?

We respect the efforts of anyone trying to help others improve their health.  But we would like to highlight several critical features of the Insulite System for Healthy Joints. The elements unique to our system include, but are not limited to:

1) Comprehensive lifestyle management. A comprehensive lifestyle management system that includes weekly support and direction on diet, nutrition, exercise, movement, and brain-associated influences on joint problems.

2) Reduce Sugar Damage to Joints.  Sugar glycation of joints is well known in the scientific literature, but few support programs incoporate this concern.  We describe the powerful glycating sugars and the nutrients that specifically slow or block this process of glycation.

3) Brain & reprocessed pain signals. Brain-directed activities aimed at reworking the brain/body maps associated with chronically painful joints. We address some of the factors dealing with brain maps and processes that might cause pain signals to be perpetuated in the joint, by applying our motor imagery system.  These components are especially helpful for those in whom exercise and movement are initially painful.

4) Address food cravings & addictions. Brain-directed activities aimed at reducing the craving or addictive process to sugars and carbohydrates.

5) Tracking progress and outcomes. An outcome tracking system, where you can track your progress using scientifically validated tests called the sf-12 and the WOMAC. These measures are used in most studies of joint pain.  They allow you to track your own progress.  These measures also help us to continually improve our system.

6) Attention to insulin resistance. Insulin resistance is a precursor to diabetes.  Since insulin resistance and diabetes are so common and, further, joint pain is so common in these conditions, we offer direction to those whose arthritis is accompanied by these disorders.

7) Belly fat inflammatory chemcals.  Programs are increasingly recognizing the importance of weight in dealing with joint problems.  However, most of the focus is still on the idea of excess weight as a mechanical load on the joint.  We address the complexity of belly fat and the vast sea of inflammatory chemicals produced by this tissue. Our programs incorporate dietary, nutritional, and exercise elements aimed at reducing the inflammatory output of belly fat.

8) Weekly support. We provide weekly updates and reminders.  We also have staff available to answer questions. We are committed to community building as part of our mission.

Unique to our program is our attention to brain neuroplasticity.  Finally, we add a comprehensive strategy that addresses the stress response, so that the effect of stress-related chemicals on joints can be minimized.
